UAE's Corporate Tax: FTA Launches Comprehensive Campaign to Raise Awareness on Corporate Tax Among Businesses
August 18, 2023
As part of its continued support for taxpayers, the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has launched a comprehensive awareness campaign to educate businesses and corporations about the UAE Corporate Tax. The Federal Decree-Law on the Taxation of Corporations and Businesses, which went into effect last month and is applicable to fiscal years beginning on or after 1 June 2023, is being implemented in a seamless manner, and this is part of FTA’s efforts in partnership with the appropriate parties to ensure this.
The General Principles of Taxation of Corporations and Businesses was the topic of the first awareness session that FTA organized in Abu Dhabi. Over 400 people representing businesses and organizations concerned with corporation tax participated in the workshop, which is one in a series to be held until the end of the year.
In all of the emirates, the campaign consists of a series of workshops and awareness sessions where FTA personnel describe the laws and procedures that encourage self-compliance with the Corporate Tax Law.

This corporate tax campaign reflects FTA’s continuous commitment to reaching the relevant business sectors through all possible channels to spread tax awareness and provide information to all business segments proactively, saving them the time and effort of contacting FTA,” said His Excellency Khalid Ali Al Bustani, the director general of the FTA.
“This step is part of the comprehensive plan that FTA has started carrying out since the implementation of Corporate Tax in the UAE,” Al Bustani continued, “FTA has intensified its efforts at all levels in cooperation with the relevant parties to ensure efficient, precise, and smooth procedures for the implementation of the Law with no impact on business operations.
The launch of corporate tax on the EmraTax digital tax services platform for public and priVATe joint stock companies, resident in the UAE, as well as the launch of a dedicated “Corporate Tax Virtual Workshops” awareness platform, designed to provide knowledge and support for businesses. These steps are part of the FTA’s plan to implement the federal decree law, which aims to solidify the UAE’s position as a leading global hub for business and investment.
The FTA stated that in addition to a comprehensive set of virtual courses that will be made available in the coming months through its website, its awareness campaign on “The General Principles of Taxation of Corporations and Businesses” will also include a series of in-person workshops taking place throughout the UAE. In addition to providing a thorough explanation of the broad principles, governing decisions, and numerous tax procedures of the Corporate Tax system, the seminars also include content intended to increase awareness about Corporate Tax in both Arabic and English.
